ABOUT THE TEXTILE DESIGNER
My name is Jardell and I am the face behind the brand. I'm 23, from Edinburgh, Scotland and love to create.
I spent 4 years studying Design For Textiles (Ba, Hons) at one of the oldest and most established textile design schools in Scotland. (an hour outside of Edinburgh)
After spending a year exploring knitting, weaving and printing; I then chose to spend the next three years specialising in printed textiles. Learning how to screen print, create and mix dyes, the different properties of fibres and fabric and how to use CAD software to aid design. During this time, I completed an exchange semester in Finland. There I explored new design methods/culture and was introduced to new ways of working. I graduated in 2019. as a textile designer.
Over this time, I established a personal design style and developed extensive knowledge of the design process. Winning an award for 'The Best Use of Colour in Printed Materials' from the Worshipful Company of Dyers for my Points of Nature collection. After showcasing my graduate collection at 'New Designers' in London, I was scouted by Trendease International to exhibit as 'New Talent' at the 'Surface Design Show' in London 2020.
Throughout university, I was always more interested in the interior side to textiles over fashion. I loved learning about how colour and pattern can really transform a space / set the tone of a room.
